The difficulties are not coming to an end for Lee Zii Jia and Anthony Ginting, as they suffered another early exit this season. In the Australian Open's men's singles, Ginting played against Dong Tian Yao in the Round of 32 but lost 21-15, 21-15.
Meanwhile, Lee Zii Jia had his own problems at the Sands China Ltd. Macau Open 2026. He had a tough time against Prahsista Bagas Shujiwo, losing 21-12, 22-20, leaving fans worried and talking about his performance on social media.
Ginting has endured a difficult campaign, failing to get past the Round of 16 in most of his tournaments this season. His only notable outing came at the Yonex Swiss Open, held from March 10 to 15. In the event, he reached the semi-finals but lost to Yushi Tanaka, 21-17, 21-12.

He started the season at the Indonesia Masters, where he failed to progress beyond the Round of 16. Before coming to the Australian Open, Ginting competed at the Malaysia Masters but was eliminated in the Round of 16.
Lee Zii Jia has also had his share of setbacks this season. He was knocked out of the Australian Badminton Open in the Round of 32 after losing to Chia Hao Lee, 21-13, 24-22.
Jia had a difficult start to the season at the Petronas Malaysia Open, where he lost in the Round of 32. He also endured a tough campaign at the Yonex Sunrise India Open before exiting in the Round of 16 at the Indonesia Masters.

"Hard truth," a fan wrote.
Among them, one highlighted their inconsistent performances and pointed to their recent poor results.
"Ginting, Jorji, LZJ. The bronze Olympic trio who are each struggling with their own health issues," one more fan added.
Meanwhile, another talked about how Jia idolized Ginting.
"I've read before that Ginting is LJZ's idol. LJZ faded after winning AE. Didn't hold back in beating Victor," a fan said.
One more talked about how high-level events drain the players' energy, while another added, "Ginting Lee Zii Jia is really struggling to break through to the QF like back in the day."
